Jing

Jing is a screen cast tool that actually Glen used and had available for us to use from the weblog. It was very helpful when developing the pod cast and video cast. It is pretty easy to set up however you need microsoft.net framework in order for Jing to run so you will have to download that if you don't have it on your computer and it does take a few minutes. Jing can capture images, record videos and you can share them online. There is a five minute time limit for recording. I played around with it just by capturing some images. It's pretty neat!

CCleaner

"C" meaning CRAP (LOL) cleans the crap from your computer..and does it ever. My first time using it it cleaned over 450mb from my computer and Glen said that after a good day he usually will get about 45mb...so I guess I had lots of crap. Anyways its easy to download and it does help you computer run smoother.

Yugma

Yugma is a great desktop sharing tool. I liked that we can easily switch presenters. This would be great for simple learning and also great for professional development and conferences, with multiple presenters. Also if you are having trouble you can share your desktop with the professor and the professor can see what you are doing and can better assist or coach you. There are also different desktop sharing tools as well that can be used...illuminate and webx are a couple of others. Kelly and Laura-lee had some trouble installing Yugma so Glen and I used the program. Glen began presenting and then passed it over to me. He was able to view my blog, my del.icio.us account and tags and we played around with my video cast all from my desktop. Really neat!

Videocast

Woohoo I just made a little video. Nothing too special but its something. Does anyone know if I can make the video box appear smaller on my blog page? I really don't want my big head taking up half my page. LOL Let me know if anyone knows how to fix that. Thanks.

Audacity/Pod Cast

Well I have been trying to get this going and I thought that I was on a role and all was working out just fine but.... I can get my pod cast to play. Oh well... I will keep trying. I did enjoy doing the recording and I do see how this can be very useful. Til next time!
